02-20-2026Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear Parents,

Partnering with parents is essential to fulfilling the mission of St. John Bosco as we educate the whole child — academically, socially, and spiritually. Meeting in person to have meaningful conversations about how to best support each child is a vital part of this partnership. A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conversations provided a valuable opportunity to work together closely and ensure we are meeting the needs of every student. With just three months left in the school year, we look forward to continuing this journey of learning, growth, and joy as we finish the year “Bulldog strong!”

Dear Parents,

Report cards will be emailed today by 5:00 PM. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for February 11, 12, and 13, with 12:30pm early dismissal on all three days. Please plan for prompt pickup or register with Innovation Learning for aftercare, so teachers may begin conferences on time.

As we enter the 3rd trimester, I want to thank families for your continued support of punctuality and regular attendance. Arriving on time allows students to fully participate in morning prayer, announcements, and the opening lessons that set the tone for the day. Tardiness disrupts learning for both the student and the class, while consistent attendance supports academic and spiritual growth.

Special Catholic Schools Week Edition

01-30-2026Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear St. John Bosco Community,

As Catholic Schools Week comes to a close, my heart is filled with gratitude for what was truly a joyful, faith-filled, and memorable week. Catholic Schools Week beautifully showcased the very best of St. John Bosco Catholic School—our faith, our students, our educators, and our incredible community.

This week also reminded us why St. John Bosco is proud to be recognized as a National and Arizona Blue Ribbon School. While this honor celebrates excellence in education, Catholic Schools Week highlighted something even deeper—that our commitment to academic excellence is matched by an equally strong commitment to faith, leadership, and service. At Bosco, excellence is measured not only by achievement, but by how we live the Gospel and serve others each day.

Dear Parents,

Catholic Schools Week is just two weeks away—one of the most exciting and meaningful times of the year for our students and school community! To kick off the celebration, we invite all students to wear their St. John Bosco school uniform to Mass at their home parish the weekend of Jan 24–25 as a visible sign of pride and school spirit. As a special incentive, any student who wears their uniform to Mass that weekend will earn a Free Dress Day on Thu, Feb 5. Click HERE to view the Catholic Schools Week schedule of events.

We are equally grateful to our wonderful teachers for their flexibility, patience, and support throughout rehearsals, which made this special evening possible. A sincere thank you as well to our AV Club for recording the Christmas Program so families may share and enjoy it together. (Please see the buttons below.)

Dear Parents,

We have an exciting week ahead at SJB! We’ll kick off Monday, December 15th, with PJ and Peppermint Day, a special celebration to mark not only meeting but exceeding our Running with Rosco goal. I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in raising funds for our school!

On Wednesday, December 17, at 6:00pm, we’ll gather for our 24th Annual Christmas Program. Under the direction of Dr. Luis Rodriguez, this memorable event will take place in the beautiful St. Benedict Church, featuring our kindergarten through 5th-grade students singing and playing instruments. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will contribute by reciting Scripture and assisting behind the scenes.

Dear Parents,

As I’m sure you’ve seen, Running with Rosco is officially off to the races—and we need EVERYONE’S help to make it a huge success! Running with Rosco is one of our three major school fundraisers of the year, and the money we raise directly supports important campus improvements, including renovating our student restrooms, updating the upper and lower basketball courts, enhancing technology across our school, and much more. These upgrades benefit every student, and we simply could not do this work without your generosity and support.

Dear Parents,

In our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety, we have repurposed our former maintenance office into a dedicated Police Hospitality Room/Security Office. This space will serve as a central hub for safety coordination, visitor oversight, and collaboration with law enforcement and parish partners. While we will not publish sensitive operational details (per expert guidance), I want to share several high-level updates and why they matter.
