Academic Excellence

St. John Bosco students are prepared for life mentally, physically and spiritually. Our graduates go on to attend some of the finest high schools in Phoenix including Brophy College Preparatory, Xavier College Preparatory and Seton Catholic Preparatory High School. In fact, 99% of our graduates are accepted into their first choice of high schools.

In order to maintain this placement rate, St. John Bosco Catholic School works to stay at the forefront of education by incorporating technology, foreign language, music and art programs into curriculum for students as young as pre-kindergarten. Our classrooms are equipped with SmartBoards and a minimum of six student computers in each K – 4th grade classroom. 5th and 6th grades have a classroom set of iPads, and 7th and 8th grades are 1:1 with iPads, allowing them to take advantage of the technology at home and in the classroom. St. John Bosco also has a school student computer lab for all classrooms to use.

What is most important is your child receives what he or she needs to advance and be challenged through their years. According to the NWEA and Iowa Tests of Basic Skills administered in all Catholic schools in the nation, St. John Bosco students, on average, are reading two and three grade levels higher than 8th grade by the time they graduate. According to the criteria for Blue Ribbon School Award, St. John Bosco School scores place us in the top 15% of the schools in the nation. Approximately one-third of the students between grades 2nd and 8th test in the gifted range in at least one academic area. Students with these gifts are supported with a variety of strategies including Accelerated Reader, ACC Math programs, and project-based learning. The school employs both a literacy and math coach who work with our advanced learners as well as those who need extra attention at their own individual pace to help each student reach their maximum potential.
