07-14-2023Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Greetings to all! I sincerely hope you are enjoying the summer and creating precious memories with your loved ones. On behalf of the esteemed faculty and staff at Saint John Bosco Catholic School, it gives me great pleasure to announce preliminary details regarding the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of not only our returning students but also 80+ new students as we warmly welcome them into our school community. I am delighted to announce that our enrollment has surpassed 435 students and continues to climb while maintaining a commendable 25:1 student-to-teacher ratio in grades K–8.

Mark your calendars for the first day of school, Wednesday, August 9, as together we embark on another outstanding year of knowledge and personal growth. Our calendar is filled with exciting events, so I urge you to peruse the Bulldog Bite newsletter in its entirety every Friday to ensure you stay informed and don't miss out on anything.

Throughout this summer, we have remained dedicated to making important adjustments that enhance safety, foster an optimal learning environment, and elevate the quality of education for all of our students. Naturally, the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff remains our top priority. To that end, our faculty and staff recently engaged with a security specialist affiliated with the Diocese of Phoenix to review our existing security measures and protocols. Moreover, our collaboration with the Porters of St. Joseph has provided us with valuable “Run, Hide, Fight” security training. Further, we have purchased a new updated public address (PA) system allowing immediate campus-wide announcements and continue to explore additional measures to guarantee the safety of our entire community.

As a reminder, all parents and visitors must enter through the school office or front gate upon arriving on campus. All other gates are strictly designated for emergency exit purposes. The north gate is exclusively reserved for the before- and after-school program (Innovation Learning).

Finally, please know of my sincere gratitude to everyone for their generous support during last year's Gala, as it enabled us to acquire our new K–6 ELA program. This program will ensure uniformity and rigor across all aspects of English Language Arts. Additionally, we have received state-of-the-art Chromebook charging and storage carts for every classroom, further enhancing our technological capabilities.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. We eagerly anticipate an exciting year ahead!
