03-05-2025Notes from the PrincipalMrs. Jamie Bescak

Dear Parents,

It is with mixed emotions that we share news of several beloved members of our school community who will be embarking on new journeys in the coming year.

After over 30 years of dedicated teaching, Mrs. Sharon Faccenda has made the decision to retire. Mrs. Faccenda is looking forward to traveling and spending more time with her family. While we will miss her in the classroom, we are excited to know that her granddaughter is a student here, and Mrs. Faccenda plans to continue to volunteer, so we’ll still see her around!

Similarly, Mrs. Addy Moreno, who has also given 30+ years of teaching, has decided to retire and devote more time to her family. Mrs. Moreno, like Mrs. Faccenda, will continue to volunteer and substitute teach, so we are fortunate to know that she’ll still be a familiar and welcoming presence on campus.

In another preschool change, Mrs. Karen Rizzo has decided to take a step back from teaching and will serve as an instructional assistant next year. This decision will allow Mrs. Rizzo to spend more time with her family while still being involved with the children and supporting our teaching staff every day here at SJB.

Lastly, after over 30 years of teaching and 23 years of wearing many hats here at St. John Bosco, Mrs. Theresa Harvey has decided to retire. Mrs. Harvey is excited to travel, spend time with her family, and dive into many good books. She will not be far, though; Mrs. Harvey will be staying on as a substitute teacher and will continue her work with our altar servers and other student clubs, and assist with the transition to our new librarian.

While we will certainly miss these wonderful women and their incredible contributions to our school, we are thankful that they will continue to be part of our community in new and meaningful ways. Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them all the best in this exciting new chapter!
